Is This Class for Me?
If you or your partner are expecting a child, YES! This 3-hour class (with a break) is perfect for busy moms and dads-to-be. It especially meets the needs of first-time parents, but could be helpful to those who are expecting another baby or are trying for a VBAC or did not breastfeed the first time.
What Will I Learn?
This is the class that I only WISH I had had before having a baby.
In this class, the Mom Squad will literally TELL ALL.
The class will focus on, but will not be limited to:
Birth (what we wish we had known about it)
Breastfeeding (how to start off on the right breast LOL!, pumping)
Newborn Baby Life (babywearing, soothing, sleep)
Postpartum (what's life like for mom after baby, PPD, anxiety, etc)
Relationship With Your Partner (communication, learning how to parent, intimacy, roles)
What is the Cost?
The cost is $50 per couple for this 3-hour class.
Want a Private Class that fits your needs?
We have three options for:
Couples ($60) 2.5 hours
Single Mamas ($40) 2 hours
Adoptive or Surrogate Families ($30) 1.5 hours
Postpartum ($30) 1.5 hours (already had baby!)
Please email to schedule.
Who is the Mom Squad?
Susan Phillips, retired Certified Nurse Midwife, Monira Silk, creator of reBlossom Mama & Baby Center & Julia Uptagrafft, postpartum doula, come together to teach you what birth is really like, what may or may not happen based on certain decisions you make, how to understand all the birth lingo about the natural progression of labor, interventions and more. We hope you will leave feeling empowered and at peace with your knowledge & decision making skills related to birth and beyond.
Next, we introduce breastfeeding and how to know when to seek help and what to look out for to make your life easier when you learn how to breastfeed with your newborn.
Lastly, we will delve into methods to soothe your newborn, what to expect of newborn sleep in the 4th trimester and how to wear your baby. We will also share resources for what to do if you find yourself with a Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder postpartum and how to help yourself recover as best you can physically & mentally and where to find resources in our community to help you along your journey.
We also believe you gain so much strength and such a strong sense of community from meeting with other mamas and papas during this life stage and we hope this will be the start of many friendships to come.
The Mom Squad is also made up of Heather Moniz, Lillian Brown, Lali Serrano. In most classes two Mom Squad members will be teaching!
