Last week we hit a HUGE milestone. Miriam lost her FIRST tooth!
She’s 6 years and 10 months, and is SUPER old in terms of tooth loss. We were eating breakfast when the loose tooth started to hula hoop in her mouth. After playing with the dangler in front of the mirror for a bit, I asked if I could just put my hand around it to see how it felt. I squeezed the tiny tooth for a millisecond, she yelped and we were both surprised to see the tooth in my hand. It was like a fig ready to drop.
I looked into her gaping mouth and saw a completely enormous bottom left ridge already broken through the surface. She exclaimed, “Now, I look like a first-grader!” and I squeezed her in an I-just-can’t-believe-this-is-happening kind of way and tears raced towards my chin. I remembered the excitement surrounding her first tooth at 11.5 months old, and now, in the blink of an eye, we were here at this unforgettable moment. It’s cliche, I know I know, but the days are long and the years are SOOOOOOO very short. Enjoy every tantrum and sleepless night (LOL), for one day you'll wake up and your child will have missing teeth! Just. like. that.
Please consider making reBlossom your sanctuary, your safe place away from the hustle and stress of life. All are welcome to share their parenting journeys with one another in our space and together we will make the world a better place for our children.
Much love always!
